Nepalrvt Expedition to Jaleshwari, Khotang, December 2015
In December 2015 NRVT trustees Chris & Alison Burns and Mark Gallant made the trip to Jaleshwari to meet local families and see the village and community for themselves. Alison writes:
'We arrived in Kathmandu on 26th November and were met by NRVT trustee Pasang who escorted us to the comfortable Holy Himalaya Hotel in the popular Thamel district. The hotel had kindly offered a charity rate for the length of our stay.'
Jubu village was our stop at the end of our first day of challenging walking. We were warmly welcomed at the High School and handed over some volleyballs and pens from NRVT.
Establishing a fund which schools can apply to for resources is something Nepalrvt would like to do in the near future.
Shree Simile High School, which we visited as we were leaving Dolpu, is very under-resourced and warmly welcomed NRVT donations of Calculators, pens, books and volley balls and nets.
The doctor at Jaleshwari Health Post was equally very pleased to receive medical supplies collected by students from Lycée JB Dumas, Alès, France. (Photos below)
